Can it give a possible clue to the original walls of Thekkumbagam synagogue compound?CONTACT ME (Dr. Laju Paul K.)http://www.blogger.com/profile/14049854691657257465noreply@blogger.comBlogger2125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4675882731831918055.post-64800076535962700672011-10-29T13:08:19.192-07:002011-10-29T13:08:19.192-07:00Thank you for your inferences and comments. I only...Thank you for your inferences and comments. I only had a speculation that the wall may be a part of the synagogue compound, and not essentially the synagogue complex itself. I see that you have strong points, and also inputs from the surviving Jewish members that it is probably not the case. I am sure it will be more clear from your upcoming posts and the 1930 photograph. You are most welcome to share your thoughts and thank you for correcting me about Sarah Cohen's house.CONTACT ME (Dr. Laju Paul K.)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14049854691657257465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4675882731831918055.post-36036691959040058852011-10-29T08:09:06.213-07:002011-10-29T08:09:06.213-07:00Hey Paul,
I am having another image took in 1930,...Hey Paul,

I am having another image took in 1930, where the thekkumbagom synagogue is clearly visible. but this image seems to have clicked from the step stone of Thekkumbagom synagogue. of a bit away from there And the tall building is looking so close and big comparing to new pictures. Now soon after that tall building towards the thekkumbagom synagogue lies two emporium shops. This gateway seems to the enterance to one of those that place. The place where you have marked number 2 in old picture was exactly the last window of (Sassoon Hall) Issac uncles house(not Sarah Cohen's house)later replaced by a embroidery shop (after 2009)where you can see a purple colour star. Last year I had compared some pictures I took in 2009 with this image you fetched from wikipedia (black and white) so it is for sure not the enterance to the Thekkumbagom synagogue.

its just my view....may not be right.

The new embroidery shop, and the next building to that had made the situation difficult for you because, bot had spoiled the original structures...

According to Gamliel Selam, Thekkumbagom synagogue was an exact replica of the Pardesi synagogue. And front wall was two storied were first floor had a hebrew school and enterance for ladies. A sky walk connected this building with the main synagogue building. I will soon post an article about the exact location with an ariel view sketch. Hope that will be helpful for you.Thoufeek Zakriyahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13957357219415958248noreply@blogger.com
